Year 8 Outdoor Education Week


Camp Theme: Leadership & Personal Challenge
Locations: Yeppoon
Length: 4 nights/5 days

Year 8 travel to Yeppoon and camp in the grounds of Cool-Waters Holiday Village. The facilities include a pool, water park, jumping pillow, tennis court and conference centre. Students build on the skills developed during their previous Middle School camping experiences including; erecting tents, working collaboratively and personal challenge activities. There is also an element of exploring some leisure activities as a group. This camp has a focus on teamwork and personal development while maintaining the underlying themes drawn from the 6 Pillars of Character and our focus on developing leadership skills. Activities which are included are High Ropes, Caving, Surfing or Stand up Paddle boarding, Go-karting, Laser Skirmish and an educational day trip to Great Keppel Island where students can both snorkel and ride in a glass bottom boat over coral reefs. The Year 8 Outdoor Education week is also an opportunity for the cohort to acknowledge their final year of Middle School together and further strengthen friendships and memories.
