Whitsunday Anglican School Teacher Named as Rising Star

Whitsunday Anglican School’s Head of Service and Global Learning Mr Matt Hodge has been named as one of The Educator’s Rising Stars of 2018.

The third annual Rising Stars list aims to identify some of the bright young education professionals across Australia who are on track to becoming industry leaders of tomorrow.

Mr Hodge was appointed as the School’s Head of Service and Global Learning in 2014 and was nominated for his implementation of the School’s Global Learning Program, his genuine desire for Service, especially when it comes to the annual Mackay Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp, and his support for local educators through the establishment of the TeachMeet network.

Mr Hodge said he was humbled to be recognised as one of the Rising Stars for 2018 and credited his success to his working environment.

“It is great to work in such a supportive environment that values innovation and experiential learning,” he said.

“I am passionate about service, global learning and supporting educators and I feel extremely grateful to be recognised for my passions.”

Whitsunday Anglican School Principal Mrs Maria McIvor said Mr Hodge’s recognition as a Rising Star is well deserved.

“Matt is a valued member of the Whitsunday Anglican School team and it is great to see he has been recognised for his motivation, hard-work, and commitment to delivering programs that not only benefit members of our School community but provide meaningful rewards for our local community and region,” she said.
